Welcome to Defog. Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully. By accessing or using Defog’s mobile application or related services (“Services”), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Services.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
2. Your Account
You may sign in using email, Apple, or Google. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login information. Notify us immediately at hello@decagrowth.co if you believe your account has been compromised.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in harmful behavior.
3. License to Use the Services
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for personal and non-commercial purposes. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Defog.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Services.
4. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for unlawful purposes
- Harass, bully, or target others
- Upload or transmit content that is harmful, defamatory, threatening, hateful, violent, sexually explicit, or that promotes self-harm
- Interfere with or disrupt system integrity or security
- Attempt to reverse engineer or extract source code
- Use the Services to promote or facilitate the sale of tobacco, nicotine, vaping products, or drugs
We may restrict or remove content or accounts to protect users and uphold these standards.
5. Health and Wellness Disclaimer
Defog is a self-help tool designed to support you as you work to reduce or quit smoking and nicotine use. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Nothing in the Services is a substitute for professional medical care, addiction treatment, counseling, or advice from a qualified healthcare provider. Always seek the guidance of a physician or other qualified professional with any questions about your health or before making changes related to cigarettes, tobacco, nicotine, or other substances, including before starting or stopping nicotine-replacement therapy or other cessation aids. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.
6. User Content and Moderation
If you submit content (for example, journal entries, notes, or messages), you grant Defog a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host and process it solely to provide and improve the Services.
We may review, remove, or restrict content that violates these Terms or legal requirements. You may report concerns to hello@decagrowth.co.
7. AI-Generated Content and No Professional Advice
The Services may generate responses using artificial intelligence. AI content may be incorrect, incomplete, or outdated. It is provided for educational and motivational support only.
Nothing in the Services constitutes medical, psychological, legal, or other professional advice. Always consult a qualified professional for serious matters. You use AI-generated responses at your own discretion and risk.
8. No Guarantee of Results
Progress in reducing or quitting a habit depends on many personal factors. We do not guarantee any specific outcome, result, or timeline. Referenced content may come from third-party sources, and we do not guarantee its accuracy, reliability, availability, or completeness. Use of such information is at your own risk.
9. Privacy
Your use of the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, store, and use your data.
10. Subscriptions and Payments
Some features require a paid subscription. Payments, billing, and refunds are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Defog does not collect or store your full payment card information.
You can manage your subscription through your platform account settings.
11. Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted providers such as authentication, hosting, and AI processing services. While we take care in selecting them, we do not control their actions and are not responsible for failures caused by third parties.
12. Intellectual Property
Defog, including its name, logo, design, software, and content, is owned by Defog or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.

13. Safety Measures and Enforcement
We may use automated and manual tools to reduce harmful behavior and abuse. We may take action, including feature restrictions or account termination, to protect users and comply with law.
14. Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as-is” and “as-available” without any warranties, whether implied or express, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Use of the Services is at your own risk.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Defog is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Defog is not liable for lost data, lost profits, emotional harm, or reputational damage
- Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of $50 USD or the amount you paid Defog in the 12 months before the event
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Defog and its team from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Services or your violation of these Terms.
17. Termination
You may delete your account at any time in the app.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations or legal reasons.
Sections such as disclaimers, limitations, and intellectual property survive termination.
18. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates become effective when posted. Continued use of the Services means you accept the revised Terms.
19. Export and Sanctions Compliance
You may not use the Services in violation of export control or sanctions laws.
20. Entire Agreement
These Terms constitute the complete agreement between you and Defog regarding the Services. If any part is found unenforceable, the remaining parts still apply.
